The 2026 HKUST Accounting Research Symposium invites submissions of unpublished manuscripts in all areas of accounting research. The Symposium also welcomes participation from accounting scholars for two days of presentations and discussion. It will be held on December 14–15, 2026, on the HKUST campus.
The keynote speaker for the 2026 symposium is Professor Mohan Venkatachalam, R.J. Reynolds Professor of Business Administration at Duke and incoming Senior Editor of The Accounting Review. Professor Venkatachalam is a leading scholar in accounting whose research spans valuation, accounting disclosures, nonfinancial performance measures, corporate governance, and managerial communication in financial markets.
PAPER DETAILS
The Symposium welcomes manuscripts in all current areas of accounting research. Manuscripts should be well developed, while still at a stage where they can benefit from group discussion. The Symposium will include no more than eight papers. A travel subsidy of US$1,000 per paper will be provided to overseas presenters.
PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
The deadline for manuscript submission is September 15, 2026. Please submit an electronic copy including a one-page abstract (MS-Word or PDF only) to: acconf@ust.hk
PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION
To register as a participant, please complete the registration form and email it to acconf@ust.hk or fax it to (852) 2358-1693 by November 15, 2026. The form can be downloaded from here.
The registration fee for the Symposium is US$350, which includes the welcoming reception, luncheons and a Symposium banquet.
Late registration for participation will be considered until all seats are filled.
